Please spare a thought for the Easter Bunny
for it must be on its last legs
and surely cannot find affairs remotely funny
when delivering all those eggs.

But this distressing situation is just poetic licence
so, please, do not fret or frown
for there is a secret, secured by a code of silence,
that keeps the workload down.

So let not your thinking be constrained by habit.
Remember it has a certain bent.
For the Easter bunny is a type of rabbit;
and one that gives nothing up for lent.
